Sunday Painter began in 2016 as a podcast featuring interviews with contemporary artists, interwoven with playlists they selected from their studios. Conceived as an audio archive, each episode offered an intimate, layered portrait of artists at work—splicing conversation with sound to reflect their influences, processes, and evolving projects. The podcast received Locust Projects’ Wavemaker Grant, part of the Andy Warhol Foundation’s Regional Regranting Program. Today, Sunday Painter has shifted into a more personal format: current episodes function as a soundtrack to Alex Nuñez’s painting practice. In addition, hour-long mixes are broadcast monthly on Jolt Radio, extending the project’s focus on immersive, music-driven studio experience.
